Addressing the upper cervical spine will benefit in multiple ways. One of those ways is having proper balance of the head over the neck, thus changing the natural positioning of the neck as a whole. This in turn will affect the force distribution throughout the body.
Since the body highly prioritizes the positioning of the head and neck it will often cause full body distortions to accommodate for misalignments and dysfunction. This commonly presents as abnormal or excessive wear-and-tear on the low back/pelvis and other areas of the spine.
Correcting the upper cervical misalignment will help reduce these effects and allow for proper wear-and-tear and for force to be distributed evenly throughout the low back and pelvis. Any additional areas of concern or involvement will be addressed and adjusted as needed if the body appears to be struggling with self-correction.
